- Allen and Delancey (American Nouveau) If you've ever dreamed of savoring succulent bone marrow with caviar while dining in the very elegant library of an old English manor, but you just couldn't get your old English chum Wilby to invite you over for dinner, Allen and Delancey might come close to helping you fulfill that dream.
- Bacaro (Italian) If Bruce Wayne were Italian and opened a restaurant in rural Tuscany, Bacaro might be what it would look like, and the food will have you saying "holy" something.
- Barrio Chino (Mexican) Everything on the menu is very fresh, and the tacos are the big draw. For $8 you get three of either pork, tilapia, steak, cactus, chicken, squid – it’s a long list.
- Brown Cafe (American) There is something about the calm, yet no-nonsense atmosphere at this place that reminds me of being back in Austin, TX, during my college years (even though everyone in the place is probably in their mid-thirites).
- Cafe Katja (Austrian) Affable intellectuals, low-key foodies and hungry ex-pats all cozy up to the incandescent-lit bar at Café Katja for some of the most mind-numbing Austrian food in the lower east side.
- Double Crown (American Nouveau) The space feels cool, a little random and sceney. But hey, it kinda works. The food is sometimes great, sometimes bleh.
- Freemans (American Nouveau) It looks and feels like a multi-roomed home (which is probably what it was) with wooden floors and taxidermied animals adorning most of the walls, and it has all the hallmarks of a trendy NY restaurant. 5 years after opening, the food is still amazing.

- Little Giant (American Nouveau) Little Giant is one of those places that from the moment you walk in you just want to love it. With tons of natural light, pillows in most of the seating areas and a decidedly low key EV attitude, it embodies bohemian chic. If only the food were as perfect as the space itself.
- The Orchard (American Nouveau) From the moment you walk in, you're struck by how warm and comfortable the place is. The menu is split into 4 courses, and most dishes satisfy.

- Sticky Rice (Thai) What you initially expect to be a standard fare ethnic restaurant reveals itself to be the authority on its regional cuisine.
